Folk Concert at “The Shack in the Back” Siblings "Ellen & Gary Bukstel"
When: Saturday Night, February 20, 7:15 pm
What: The Shack in the Back is the ideal venue for a house concert. It was specially designed for this purpose, and seats about 180 in a beautiful outdoor setting. At intermission, enjoy an extravagant potluck dessert buffet. Hot drinks will be available all evening. After the concert, hang out with the performers and other folk aficionados at the campfire ring for an old-fashioned sing-a-long. When Singer Songwriter “Siblings” Ellen & Gary Bukstel Join Forces...watch out! This dynamic performing “Sister & Brother DUO” combine their unique blend of acoustic and power folk. Together, their joyful “sibling” spirit, remarkable harmonies and captivating music and lyrics will carry you away. Together they have been featured together at the South Florida Folk Festival, Will McClean Folk Festival, Sarasota Folk Festival, The Improv, Gusman Theater, Kravis Center, Sunrise Civic Center, UM International Music Festival, to name a few. Directions: Take Sheridan St west, just past 146 Ave to (north) to Volunteer Road (SW 148 Lane) and turn right (north). Go one block north and turn right onto Mustang Trail (SW 69 St), to the second driveway on the right. Continue to the right toward the back of the property, past the barn, sheds, to the parking in the grass. Parking is WAY BACK THERE ONLY!!! No parking in front. NO PARKING ON STREET please. If you’re coming from I-75, exit at Sheridan St east, go to 146 Ave, and make a U-turn, then turn right on Volunteer Road (SW 148 Lane) and follow the directions above.
Bring: BYOB if you’d like. Also, bring a jacket or a blanket in case it’s cold out. This is outdoors, but under cover.
Cost: $17 Mosaic members, $22 non-members. Cost includes concert, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, potluck dessert buffet (Mosaic will bring dessert on your behalf), and campfire afterwards.
RSVP: RSVP in advance is required. These concerts usually sell out about one week in advance. Mosaic is holding 25 seats, but we will have to release remaining seats by about the Tuesday before. If you RSVP, you can pay upon arrival, but you will be responsible to pay even if you don’t show up.
